THEN I came about 39 Spies, the same band as Lelo & The Levants, but with a new name. Here's a track

Well, FINALLY, I'm happy to say I tracked down the THIRD incarnation of this band. They changed their name once again to Karimu and released another great album in 1984. This one doesn't come with any bonus tracks, I'm afraid. From what I can tell, only one 7" was released from this album ("Don't Dig Too Deep" with "Sugar Daddy" on the flip, both album versions) but that doesn't detract from it being a wonderful and rare synthpop album. Karimu (like Lelo & The Levants, and 39 Spies) were Aurielo Danino (aka Lelo), Charlie Chiappe, and Oswin Falquero. Blackmail was released in Spain on CFE records in 1984. Here's one of my favorite tracks from the album:

There are a couple of stray releases from these guys I'm planning on tracking down... a single released under the name Karimu in 1988 (discogs tells me it at least features Oswin Falquero) and some soundtrack work, but I think this is the last full new wave album these guys put out. I hope I'm wrong. I've been wrong before. Enjoy!
