REQ: The Motels "Forever Mine"

Postby Fred Taghon » Fri Sep 23, 2016 7:50 am

"Forever Mine" was the fourth single from The Motels' 1982 album "All Four One". I bought the 7" after seeing them perform it on Solid Gold hehe. OK, its a little cheesy and wasn't much of a hit, which I suppose is why it's never been included on any of their compilations.

I finally tracked the song down as a download a few years back. It was from one of the "All Four One" remasters (either the 1996 or 1999 one) but the sound quality is horrendous. Loud, too much bass, muffled and even a little distorted.

I'm wondering if anyone might have the first CD issue of "All Four One" (from 1989):
https://www.discogs.com/Motels-All-Four ... se/5194021
which is long out of print? I'm just looking for this one track, not necessarily the whole disc, since I do have their "No Vacancy" compilation from 1990 and the sound quality is pretty good but, of course, no "Forever Mine".

I assume and HOPE that CD has better sound quality than the one I have?

If someone has this to share in FLAC or WAV/AIFF that would just make my day!

Fred,

I sent you a private message.

As for good sounding Motels on CD, check out the BGO remasters of "The Motels"/"Careful" and "All For One"/"Little Robbers". These 2009/2010 remasters are from the original tapes by Andrew Thompson. No brick-walling whatsoever!
