I've been sitting on this CD for YEARS and finally got around to posting it here on NWO to share with you all. Back in the mid-late 90's I came upon a CD called "The World of Synth-Pop", and on that CD was a track called "Don't Bring Me Down", by "Prophets on TV". Most of the other artists were pretty well known, but that one was new to me, so I searched online and somehow came across a contact email for one of the members of the band. A few emails later, and he graciously offered to send me a CD-R of rare/unreleased material, along with most of their catalogue of music.

I waited all these years, in the hopes that POTV would release an official collection CD; however, it doesn't appear that's going to happen anytime soon, and I'd hate to have this cool music just disappear into the abyss if something should ever happen to me, so here it is...13 tracks of rare studio-quality recordings from Prophets on TV.

Officially, I'm only aware of two 12" singles, which were released back in 1988 and 1990, which you can purchase here:

The only song that's not on the CD and is on one of the 12" singles is "Freeway Zone", which I'd love to hear, so if anyone has it and wishes to share ... that would be awesome.

Here's a 320K rip of the CD that was sent to me. I can also upload a FLAC version, since I still have the source CD...but I thought 320K would be a good start, depending on the response. Enjoy!!

This is awesome! Count me in for the FLAC, please. And I'll digitize and remaster Freeway Zone from my 12" tomorrow morning and upload a FLAC for it too!

I might need a bit of time for the FLAC files. I'm doing some renos and my CDs are all nicely packed away in totes, but I'll upload the FLAC files as soon as I can.

Currently writing new material. Have 5 new songs and many more ideas. I recently moved back to Europe where I started Prophets On TV and interestingly, the ideas all came back much more clearly here.

A Much Better world?

You will be hearing more this year. I'll leak a bit along the way, but do want to finish writing before I let out too much. Want it to be a complete album and complete thought finally.
