Organizing my Frankie Goes To Hollywood collection and I've had this one mix of "Relax" for 20yrs that always seemed "unique" to me and I've never been able to identify it definitively. Maybe someone here can help shed some light.

I ripped it from the "World Of Dance New Wave The 80's" CD (1996) - Rebound Records - 314 520 354-2 (USA)

I did some investigating last night on wikipedia and discogs, then listened to all the versions of "Relax" I have and the one thing I noticed is that the music in this mix appears to be the same mix used for the "From Soft To Hard" mix, which is an instrumental mix very similar to the album version, but with several differences in reverbs and instrument placement within the stereo spectrum. But I don't see any mention of that mix also having an identical version with vocals - which is what this appears to be. If you jump around between this mix, the Album version and the original 7" mix (aka "Relax (Move)"), it is definitely different from both.

Any clues??

I have the 3:42 version from this CD single and it's a 1993 mix, but it's just sped up with minimal additions. I finally found a reference to a "classic 1993 version" as you mentioned above:

According to a discogs entry, the 1993 compilation "Bang!" has what are described as "classic 1993" mixes of "Relax" and "Watching The Wildlife". There is no indication on any of the packaging that the two tracks are "new" 1993 remixes, but it does appear this is the origination of the mix I've been researching. I'm trying to download the track to compare it, but I'm pretty sure this is the case...

UPDATE: I can now confirm that the mix in question is DEFINITELY the "Classic 1993" mix that was on the 1993 "Bang!" compilation.
