Talk of the North - Such a Shame

Postby crichert » Tue May 04, 2021 8:25 am

Hi all:

I recently stumbled upon a cover song of Talk Talk's "Such a Shame" by a group called "Talk of the North":
https://www.discogs.com/artist/810009-Talk-Of-The-North

The vocals sound nearly identical to Mark Hollis from Talk Talk, is this just a DJ that took the vocals and prepared a remix of the track under the pseudonym "Talk of the North", or is there someone out there that sounds exactly like Mark Hollis who decided to release one cover version of a Talk Talk song. :)

I wasn't able to find anything about the group or artists on that 12" single, hoping someone out there can help shed some light.

Thanks

That's definitely not Mark Hollis, since Marks' first language was English, including proper London inflection and all.
There's more like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WChbrwuZcs
It's all from Italy. Purpose: Unclear.

Great Italo Disco cover version! I am pretty sure that's not Mark Hollis on vocals. I think that's just a guy trying to sound like Mark and he does a pretty job.

German disco queen SANDRA later did another nice cover to this song -
