I was thinking of the various conversations in other threads about early electro, Hi-NRG, and italo.
I thought I'd upload a few songs to the hub in case anyone is interested, or have never heard them.
The songs are in my Disco/Dance folder & their sub-folder is "8/1/05"
Included are:
Patrick Cowley - Mind Warp & Invasion. Not as minimal/sythy as his other stuff, but pretty cool.
Sylvester - Rock the Box - If a white guy sang this it would have been new wave. Very cool song - I think you guys will like it.
Divine - Love Reaction - Supposedly New Order was very flattered that Blue Monday was stolen, note for note, for this song.
Was (Not Was) - Wheel Me Out - interesting early track (1979) using samples from movies.
Stephanie Mills - Pilot Error. I don't think it's an analogy for anything - I think the song really is about someone passively watching a plane crash. How often do you hear a song about that?
The rest of the songs span early electro/Hip-Hop (Natasha - AM/FM),
And a mix of Hi-NRG, italo and some songs I've been sending around from the boards: Modern Rocketry - Stepping Stone, Divine - Native Love, Man2Man - Male Stripper, Bobby O - I'm So Hot for You, Material - Busting Out, Was (Not Was) - Out Come the Freaks, Fun Fun - Colour My Love.
