Many fond memories of that silly song! [:D] Dancing like an idiot at my friend's house, drunk on lemonade & vodka.

I have it on one of those cheap "New Wave Hits" compilations. Extremely catchy in a slightly annoying kind of way. I like it though.

Wide Boy Awake didn't have a full length album but did release an EP in the US. The band was fronted by ex-Ant (he was only on the Kings Of The Wild Frontier album) Kevin Mooney.

The b-side of "Chicken Outlaw" was actually the bigger hit, "Slang Teacher," available on several compilations.

That's a great song. Actually, their only release, which was an E.P., was also very good. It's a shame they didn't put out a full-length album. But I read an interview with Kevin Mooney in which he mentioned that their record label (I think it was CBS) was intent on "grooming" them, so the band basically said "Ba-bye" and of course were never heard from again.
