there was a really good female heavy metal band of the early eighties
(besides vixen). can anyone help me solve this mystery? also any other female heavy metal bands of the eighties. another thing, this all girl band coverd one or two popular rock songs of the 70s/ early 80s

Hard to come up with many the already mentioned Girlschool, the Runaways, Madam X (pre vixen), Pretty Maids, Tiger Lilly, and Meanstreak.

Is the band you're thinking of all female or just femal fronted?
