I thought of purchasing any good albums by Gene loves Jezebel for a start. I blamed my childhood day for not exposing me with this AWESOME band and now I am totally hooked on them since I listened to 'Give my regards to Ray'. I have some of their songs on mp3 such as flame, bruises, suspicion, rooftops, etc. Motion of love is something I can’t live without right now, thanks to Rubbeet! I’ve checked their websites and they had many albums, very hard to choose which one to buy first.

For a beginner like me, I should use a good start. Can anyone suggest which album I should get first? Maybe after one album, i'll start my full collection. There goes my money....[:)]

My personal favourite of their first four albums is Immigrant. I stopped listening to them after that. There's a Best of also (Voodoo Dollies).

The Best Album is Discover, recently remastered, you will have the new wave anthems:Desire, Heartache and Vagabond. A Box Set is available now with some extended versions. Then get The House Of Dolls with the Hits: Gorgeous, The Motion Of Love and Twenty Killer Hurts. Voodoo Dollies : Best Of is also very good, it includes many of their Hits but if U like GLJ, I suppose that you would like to own their albums rather than a compilation , right?. Now for the extended versions, look for Remix Sampler, difficult to get but well I got my own copy on ebay sealed. Then add the Single extended version of The Motion Of Love. Then Heavenly Bodies, Immigrant, Promise etc[;)]

I just go with the first three albums (Promise, Immigrant, and Discover) which were recently reissued with b-sides and whatnot.
I really didn't like the later stuff.

You're always welcome! Now, since you're so fond of that song, then I think you should grab "House of Dolls" first. You would also like the album "Kiss of Life" (both albums are pretty darn good- other than their earlier stuff, of course). "Heavenly Bodies" is also good, but I wasn't that hooked on first listen.

Well, thanks to everyone for the feedback. I am so much into Gene Loves Jezebel now. I gotta have their CDs!

Well GLJ is an excellent band, I have 12 albums and 16 counting the spares and more to come. Whereas it's obvious that their latest releases are not as good as their earlier material, GLJ being a pillar of New wave, I'm determined to get all their albums, it's just a question of time. Now if You like the Power New Wave, I suggest that you also look for The Sisters and Mercy, The Mission UK, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Bolshoi, Bauhaus, The Waterboys (first albums)and X'Mal Deutschland![:)]

Thanks Fanciz, i'm so eager to dig all their old stuffs where Michael and Jay were both frontmen of the band. I'd probably checked out their later albums once i've collected their earlier stuffs.[8D]
