I know I have posted looking for this song at least once in the last year, but I don't know if anyone ever posted something back to me because I forgot to come back. The Atlantics had a couple of hits in the 1980's (their most famous song is probably "Lonely Hearts"), but they had this one hit that was only available via 45 rpm (as far as I know) that I used to love. Julie Kramer plays it here on WFNX during Leftover Lunch from time to time, but I'd really love a copy of it as an MP3. Can anyone help? Thanks and Happy Holidays!

One of their drummers, Ray Boy Fernandes, has posted a lot of their mp3s around the net. I don't think this was one of them, but if you fire him off an email at
http://bostonbuttabeats.com/, maybe he'll help out. Worth a shot. He's also got a myspace page with some HTF goodies on it -

For the record, "Pop Shivers" was never commercially available.

I guess it's a Happy Holidays for everyone, because Ray was kind enough to take notice. Now that's what I call fast service!

Dear Somebody -
Yes, I did what you told me, mostly because I have an account on MySpace as well and he responded the next day! What a great surprise. I thanked him profusely, wished him a Happy New Year,
and was the first to download it this time around on their web site.
Thanks for posting it. I hope several people download it. This site gets so deep into New Wave that some of the stuff borders on very obscure. This song, if you were in college around 1980-81 was a big hit on WBCN here in Boston. It was like my holy grail after I corraled Interview's Adventurers some time ago thanks to another generous soul on this site. Anyway, some songs just stick out in your memory, probably because you remember the time period fondly and can't hear the song anywhere, but this song stuck with me some 25 years until I now finally own a copy. THANK YOU!

I moved to Southie in February, 1981, and -- although I was a bit of a youngin at the time -- I do remember it. I remember "Lonelyhearts" better, of course. That song was everywhere.
I guess they weren't too popular outside of Massachusetts. Well, we can always change that. You know, as he may have told you, hey were trying to get the wheels in motion for a CD compilation, but unfortunately, it didn't happen. Well, maybe next year. And if Ray reads this, thanks, big guy!
