Does anyone have a 12 inch extended version of Split Enz's I Got You? Now I'm not saying that there even was an extemded mix,but if there was,it is something that I don't know about,and was just asking,in case someone did have a copy.If anyone does have a copy,can you please post it as a file in here? Thank you.Also does anyone know if any of Tim Finn's solo songs was ever put out on an extened 12 inch? And if so can you please let me know what they are?

To the best of my knowledge "I Got You" was never released in a 12" extended mix. It is certainly possible that some remix service like Razormaid may have made one, but I've never seen or heard of it.

Dunno about Tim Finn's solo stuff.

I think Hot Tracks did a remix - I've never been able to find it though...

It's a shame Split Enz never really got into the 12" mix thing ....... "Dirty Creature' or 'Six months in A..." would have been (even more) killer in extended versions....I always throw a jaundiced eye at unofficial remixes (mainly because they are usually done poorly) for example, the Razormaid series ( sorry--i know some of you may like these, but the cut and paste remix style didnt compare with the subtlety of a studio remix...)...but again --- It woulda been nice to have some early Enz extended versions...

Split Enz probably didn't get into the 12" versions because it was a bit too early. They were around from the mid-70's to about 1981. They were competing with Disco 12 inchers.

While some New Wave songs were on 12" before 1981 they really didn't become a staple until a little later.
