Favorite covers of New Wave Classics?

Several come to mind...
Of course, Gang Green doing Til Tuesday's "Voices Carry" almost made me pass Budweiser through my nose the first time I heard it!

Let me know if it doesn't work for some reason. Enjoy!

I hate to say it but I've kind of enjoyed some of the songs done for movies like 50 First Dates and Disney's Sky High. My kids have loved them too...obviously. Some of my favorite tracks:
Keaton Simons - And She Was
Elefant - Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want
They Might Be Giants - Through Being Cool
UB40 - Every Breath You Take
311 - Love Song

Simple Minds - Bring On The Dancing Horses
Foo Fighters - I'm In Love With A German Film Star (but not as good as the original by The Passions)

And a couple of non-New Wave tunes by New Wave groups:
Duran Duran - The Needle and the Damage Done
Echo & The Bunnymen - People Are Strange
Icehouse/Iva Davies - Heroes, Loving The Alien

Actually, I have my own track to submit in this topic!

Many years ago, I was being interviewed about my band, and the conversation drifted to how I "made things dark". (The interviewer's opinion, not mine!) I took it as a challenge, and sang this song on the air accompanied by my guitar. I recorded it the next week on piano. It's a darker version of Tommy Tutone's "867-5309/Jenny"

http://s61.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=15CJ ... 2K7VPNS055

It becomes a real stalker song, and I put it on a compilation of Jenny/Jennifer songs for my friend Jenn. (she loves it, but she also says it creeps her out!)

Well, since this thread is about COVER VERSIONS, it's not The Vapors. As I said above, I'm almost positive it's Skankin' Pickle.
