Can`t say I`m a fan,but I remember finding myself on the dancefloor when the DJ played Funky Town. It was quite a big hit in Norway.

Their two hits are unlistenable, but I liked some of the flop singles and album tracks. On the first two records, anyway; the third one (where they took a page from Spandau Ballet and went arena rock) was a disaster. I mean, seriously, it shouldn't be heard by anyone save for the sadomasochistic and the deaf. And the deaf sadomasochists.

Oh, and of course "His Eyes." New wave chicks with freaky hair in horror films swear by that song. You know, right before they get a machete in the gut by disfigured mutants with mommy issues.

Did the radio stations and the labels have bad taste? Or did I?

I think Autumnal Park is a new wave masterpiece. I ripped it from vinyl not long ago before I realized it was being reissued on CD. I hadn't listened to the album in at least 15 years and I was blown away - every track is at a minimum listenable, many are fantastic.

However, I remember the day I was watching videos and saw their cover of Funkytown and I was absolutley gutted. It was like seeing your old girlfriend out with some moron named Gordon. I thought they were sooo cool up until then...

I actually really liked their Teleporter cd that came out a few years ago.

Does anyone have any songs from Brian Canham's other band, Brill? Would love to hear some of those.
