Rachel Sweet UK version

Postby geoffolehane » Sun Jan 22, 2006 9:21 am

Does anyone have the original British mix of "Cuckoo Clock" from "Fool Around?" The original brings up the background vocals to the same level as the lead vocals. But as far as I know it's only on the original British LP from 1978.

There was a later British re-release (1979) to coincide with the US release of "Fool Around" that had the same cover artwork and same songs as the original UK version. But the mixes are the US mixes.

You can send it to me at jeffjjlyons@yahoo.com. I'd appreciate it.

Totally spaced this off. Many appologies! The one that Apollo posted probably sounds better than my vinyl rip, but let me know if you still need mine.

Hey ApolloZero...thanks for the added treat. It's great to have a clean copy of "It's So Different Here" too.

Thanks Apollo. I really appreciate you going out of your way to do this.

But (ducking for cover) this was the right song but it's not the mix I was looking for.

The original UK mix brings up the background vocals significantly. The harmonies are loud and clear and just as loud as Rachel's lead. This one sounds like the UK '79 mix rather than the UK '78 mix.

It's hard to describe unless you've heard it but it's a very obvious difference. I actually have that version on a reel-to-reel tape(!) somewhere but I have no way to play it or dub it.

But thanks, I can always use a clean copy of this one too. I'd still like to find the other one and maybe Ollie Stench has has it....
