I like that unknown track, I'll have to check back to see who it is.
Thanks!

If it's the same "no good in our goodbye" that was posted a few weeks ago on this board, the artist is Fragile Friends.

Who would of thought it, a German poster who likes Malaria! ? [:D][;)]
Seriously, I recommend their early singles collection, some very good stuff on there.

Don't know much of their early releases besides Kaltes klares Wasser (which is a wave classic - impossible to have a wave party without it her in Germany). I'm bored by their newer projects, though.
Anything else by Malaria that you can recommend. (I know there is a Best of CD called `Compiled´ - is it any good? And what about other tracks from the early days that are not on it?)
With regards,
Plastik

There is very little choice when it comes to Malaria! and CDs.
However, "Compiled" is an excellent compilation and is well worth purchasing. Granted, it is not a complete collection, but then it was not meant to be. Get it, you won't regret it.
As for their later stuff, you are completely right. It is not very good and without the edge their early material had which made it so special.

Thanks Frank, nice songs again[:)] Just a question: where did you get that Academy track? Because I can't find any info about it (just like White Heat). Also, somehow it doesn't really sound Academy-like, but then again it does...

My mate put it on a compilation MP3 CD he did for me. Where it came from before that flip only knows..
I like it a lot and like you, wished I knew more about it. [:(]

lemmi1968 thanks for your positive comment.
Waverboy, thanks as well. The Small Ads typicfies the slice of Britishness that we've all done at one time - trying to find that elusive bargain in the papers.
Suprisingly, the band disappeared as quickly as they appeared. While the single made it onto the network charts, the follow-up didn't and only made a mediocre placing on the indie charts. I think that the novelty aspect of the first release overshadowed the fact that underneath it all, The Small Ads were a decent band.
