i have always heard that they released a rare indie album before terri nunn joined the band.
and i use to have a picture of the album cover and track list but have since lost those, and i was never able to find it.
i thought that that was where the song a matter of time from the best of albm came from.

anyway does anyone know more about this and can anyone get me mp3's of it?

thank you.

Try this:

I only wish I had some early Berlin--I just wonder what Toni Childs voice had sounded like with the rest of the band.

It's great to be able to contribute something to this ghost town. I'm a Toni collector and as far as I know she never recorded anything with Berlin. Here's the earliest Toni Childs recordings I know of. These are the A & B-side of a 1981 7" single from a group called Nadia Kapiche of which Toni Childs was the singer. Apparently these recordings were actually done by Toni & The Movers (that featured Michael Steele-later of the Bangles) but were released as Nadia Kapiche. These aren't on CD, cassette, or 8-track. This is about as rare as it gets. Enjoy!

Yeah, I'd be interested in that too. I've only heard the one song, "Matter Of Time", which appeared on the 1988 <I>Best Of Berlin 1979-1988[/i] collection. I like that song quite a bit.

I have the 1980 10 track release called 'Information' on Teldec CD from Germany, but it features Virginia Macolino on vocals. It was during their brief stint on IRS records after Terri had apparently up and left to try hollywood. They did recruit Toni Childs, only very briefly, before Virginia signed on for this 1980 release. It is quite good and consistent with releases of that period.

Yes, that is the one. But I am not on the hub anymore. I retired quite a while back after seeing how easily I could be traced for sharing music, and since I could never seem to be connected to anyone after that big problme months ago with the hub, just decided to play it safe and not go back to it.

But that release may pop up on gemm or ebay, I am not sure.
