I finally replaced my computer's TV card yesterday and started digitizing the remaining videos that I have on VHS. Look for the following by the end of the week...

All videos are complete from the first frame to the last and the video quality ranges is very good to excellent depending on your perspective. Most of the files are between 25 and 35 megs since I use DivX 6.1 to compress the video and Radius Mp3 (192kbs/44,100 hz) to compress the audio. The bad news is that you may need to download these codecs to view the videos in the media player of your choice. The good news is that they're free. I'll post links later tonight.

Meanwhile, if anyone is interested in digitizing their VHS collection, I'll be happy to help. The TV card (ATI TV Wonder Pro) cost me $75 USD with tax. The software (VirtualDub) and codecs are free, so once you have the card, all it will cost you is your time. I can help you with getting everything up and running.

Hopefully this doesn't come across as self promotion, because the only thing I'm getting out of this deal (or looking to get out of this deal) is what the rest of you have to share! [:)]

Their EP was kind of disappointing, but I really liked this clip when it came out. You think the guy and girl are breaking up, but it turns out they're just actors in a soap opera. The camera pans out in the last shot (after the girl has packed up and shipped off) to reveal that their apartment was really just a set.

That concept may be nothing special now, but I thought it was pretty original back then. Although I admit to not having seen every video in the world prior to 1984.

I always thought that was pretty cool too.

I was also disapointed in the EP. Nothing on there even comes close to "Head Over Heels" in my opinion. Like a lot of other funk oriented New Wave bands, they were better musicians than songwriters.
