Somebody Somewhere posted this link on the Comsat Angels thread that's been running over on the main forum:

You can see the complete videos (with GREAT picture quality) for "Independence Day" and "Will You Stay Tonight" through VH1.com's "VSpot" video player. (It's Windows based technology, so it probably won't work for Macs, at least not yet.)

After watching the Comsat Angels videos, I started doing some random searches for New Wave artists and found the following videos in their entirity:

Fashion - Move On
Fashion - Streetplayer
Blue Zoo - Cry Boy Cry
B-Movie - Switch On, Switch Off
Haysi Fantaysi - Sister Friction
Haysi Fantasy - Shiny Shiny
Blow Monkeys - Forbidden Fruit

I haven't had a chance to dig any deeper, but obviously there's some amazing stuff on there.

Now I just need to figure out how to download the videos in case they eventually decide to pull them!

I had no idea Hayzee fantayzee had more videos than just "shiny shiny" and "john wayne". Heck, I didn't even know the comsat angels had ONE video!

Funny they have this on there. I waited through a huge chunk of the MTV-2 marathon to get it on tape, and then it never ran. What, were they afraid of giving some poor kid a seizure?

Neither did Romeo Void's "Say No" -- which was the one Viacom chose to put up on their website when they did "Bands Reunited." Makes you wonder how they can have a so-called four-month-long fest of "every video we've got" -- and dozens of the ones they have online at VH1.com weren't so much as on the playlist.

I can rip whatever video on that webpage, just tell me wat you whant and give a couple of days to be done, I sincerely dont explain how to do this because its an extensive path way and you need a very very good PC, so dont worry I could help to have those ones in our collections, I have dozens of videos from there and they look pretty good.

Ha! I get your little joke there, and when I first saw that video I thought I was going to have a seizure myself (those damn lights).

What I don't like about the vcast:

1. IE only
2. That stupid DRM dialog on every video, but that might be a setting on my side.

Thanks, LM. If I thought these videos were going to be avialable indefinitely, I'd be happy to just watch them on VSpot. However, I've learned the hard way over the years that it's a good idea to get copies of this stuff on your hard drive while the getting is good.

At some point, they're going to decide that they need to make room for more current (and more popular) videos and they'll take the rarities down. In fact, I've already noticed some movement over the past two days.

Two more that I found last night that just blew my mind:

SPK - "Machine Age Voodoo"
The Bluebells - "I'm Falling"

They also have a video from Nine Ways to Win on there, but I don't remember the name of it right off the top of my head.

Totally. Pretty much all the ones they put up to promote "Bands Reunited," they later took down and replaced with 30-second snippets. Gee, great. At last, I can have a 30-second fragment of "Say No."

Come to think of it, they didn't air "Chinatown," either.
