Yesterday during "The Alternative" they showed a Whitesnake video! WTF?!?
Now they have a commercial running announcing 2 weeks of "Heavy Metal's 100 Greatest Moments", "Behind the Music". "100 Greatest One-Hit Wonders" etc. All reruns. All total crap. can classic "The Real World" and "Pimp My Car" be far behind[xx(]?

Hmmm...You're watching VH-1 and they're showing crap?! When did that happen? [:p]
I got so sick of that channel after the first three months. It was one of the reasons why I cancelled my cable.

They haven't jumped yet, but they're sliding that way. They used to only show VH-1 in-house promos as "commercials", now they have regular commercial breaks. They still play some great videos, though, and with the use of the Tivo, it's easy to find ones you want to watch or record.

I thought they jumped a while back, like over a year ago. They were playing more top 40 vids as of recently.

Schwenko,
I'm sorry. I, now, see in your original post the "classic" bit. I'm sure that channel has got to be head and shoulders above the original channel. What a waste!

My point is that it is headed down the slippery slope. Ultimately no videos, all the time!

I 've notice it too, didn't they show a movie recently?

They seem to break into their usual programming more and more with either commercials or some long in-house commercial for an upcoming movie or concert.
I think the sad reality is people who want to see videos are a small minority. I read an interview with vid-ditector Anton Corbijn and he said that nobody really cares about videos nowadays. I think most video viewing these days is done online anyway.
