I've heard about angelic upstarts for years, but strangely never heard about that song until this morning while looking through lyric sites. The chorus "I stand accused, I feel Abused" gives me the impression that this is the song i've been looking for all along. It's a shame the hub is down currently.

After hearing an MP3 of that song, I've decided that it just has to be what i was looking for. I honestly can't think of anything else that it might be (unless it's a really obscure song nobody's ever heard of). I guess i was wrong about the singer's voice (false memory). Sorry if my description was somewhat misleading. I definitely do think that's the song though. Case Closed.
