This is all I remember from the song: (female lead)

That's why i throw my pearls at swine
I do it everytime
because my (?????)
the way I throw my pearls at swine...

I remember it being on one of the College Radio CMJ discs (not the one's available with the mag)...late 80s/early 90s.

Any help is always appreciated. Thanks :)

Believe me, if I knew that one, I would have made it the anthem of my life. [B)] Sorry wish I could have helped you.

Rags To Riches by Gavin Friday has similar lyrics. Not a female lead though.

I worked for CMJ for a bit and remember a band called The Buck Pets that had a song called 'Pearls'...had to be 1990 or so...good band...don't know if you'll ever find them and they didn't have a female lead...they were sort of Hüsker Dü -ish...

I should know this song. I've been searching my collection, including some of the CMJ Certain Damage CD's of the late eighties, but no luck yet. I've only heard it once. Now if I could just remember where ...

The band was an 80's Los Angeles band called the Love Dolls, and the song was called "Pearls at Swine."

The Love Dolls were formed as a result of the underground movie "Desperate Teenage Love Dolls" (and its sequel "Love Dolls SuperStar") by Dave Markey, both of which are available through We Got Power Films http://www.wegotpowerfilms.com/ . "Desperate Teenage Love Dolls" starred members of Redd Kross and the Love Dolls, and featured music by those bands as well as Black Flag, the Nip Drivers and others. The Love Dolls were Jennifer Schwartz (vocals), Kim Pilkington (guitar), Abby Travis (bass) and Janet Housden (drums).

I'm not sure where you might get ahold of the album containing "Pearls at Swine" -- maybe e-bay or gemm.com? The Love Dolls did two albums -- "Love One Another" and another album that I can't remember the name of. Unfortunately, I think the album that I can't remember the name of is the one that has that song on it.

"Pearls at Swine" was written by Kim Pilkington, who passed away last month.

Please file this under better late than never ...

The Lovedolls' "Pearls at Swine" appears on the Radio Tokyo Tapes Volume 4: Women, Chameleon Records, 1989, catalog number D2-74810.
