Dance mixes with opera

Here's a couple of strange ones from the 90s. (I don't think they're Malcom McLaren). Both are techno/dance songs that sample female opera vocals.


1. This one was in a TV commercial that showed shots of bodies dancing at a disco (when I say bodies I mean that the camera zoomed in on body parts as opposed to full-length shots of the dancer. The aria sampled is "Je Veux Vivre" from Gounod's "Romeo et Juliette." (no luck at adtunes.com)

2. The second sampled the duet known as "Viens, Malika . . . Dome Epais" from the Delibes opera "Lakme." The duet will be best known to New Wave fans as the background to the "It was a love song!" "But it was sung by two women!" exchange between Catherine Deneuve and Susan Sarandon in "The Hunger" but it was also used in another 80s classic, "Someone to Watch Over Me" and also in a commercial for an airline.

Yes, I know, kinda strange. Any leads would be helpful.

Never heard the first one, but the second is Malcolm McLaren 'Aria On Air'. I think it's mentioned in another thread recently. Yanni also did a version of that.
