Dial L for Love ?

Dial L for Love ?

Postby KYYX4ever » Wed Jun 10, 2009 7:30 am

Off an old KJET tape, I hear a cool old new wave song, but have no idea who it is. It sounds a bit Thomas Dolby-ish, very synthy, male voice singing, with a small interlude with a female voice speaking in a breathy voice.
Main lines:
"is it love?
(this is the main melody): dial l for love
loveline...loveline's on"

Any ideas who or what this song is ? Thanks in advance[:)]

Hi KYYX, did you ever find the track? I have it ... I recorded this one from vinyl several years back. It was actually one of my Songs of the Week back then. I'll post it if you'd like.

Thank you very much, MikeP--I did indeed find it and I love it! The KJET tape (someone had posted it here a while back) was static-y, so it was nice to hear it in its full glory. I appreciate your offer.[:X]

Interesting, that's the song that I requested info on a while back.
Do you have other KJET recordings? I've been searching forever for live recordings of the station.

I have two KJET recordings. It is possible that they were your's. It was posted here sometime last Winter. IIRC, it was in a KYYX thread. Oy, I can't remember. Anyway, one is 2:20:17 and starts off with "6 Months in a Leaky Boat". The other, at 2:29:03, starts off with the dj saying "Lars in with your Wednesday morning new music--" and gets cut off, ending up in Oingo Boingo song.

Once I found out what the song was, and who did it, I found it right away on slsk. [:)]
