Hi Marek, I am sure that I have this song ( http://spiritofradio.ca/SongSearch/572.mp3 ) somewhere at home. I am struggling to remember the title and to find the vinyl among my records. when I am succesful I will let you know. I hope I can help you.
I'd look under "Swimming Pool" or "Hot Days Cool." It's not a modern rock song -- what else could it be called?

And can someone please confirm that it's not "Swimming Pool" by Christophe Jenac. I'm tempted to buy the thing just to find out. I want a full mp3 of this, dangnabbit!

Thanks to SomebodySomewhere for the lyrics.

You work to get a break
You never heard about give and take
I loved you then and I love you now
Grabbing round was much more fun
And, baby, you took every one
I loved you then, I love you now

Floating in a swimming pool
Try to keep your hot days cool
Floating in a swimming pool
Try to keep your hot days cool

"Grabbing round"... that sound right? Obviously, the lyrics were written by somebody who doesn't speak English very clearly!

I don't think it's Figures on the Beach... I used to have the Swimming EP many years ago (I lost it... somewhere...) and I don't recall that song. But it's been at least 6 years or so since I had so I guess I can't rule it out completely.

I personally guarantee that this clip is previous to the 90's... Just oozes an older recording than that to these ears.

I was wondering also about My Home Town. if you had found the song, I would pay well for it. I've been looking for it for a long time, but I still havent found it.
