I ought to know this but it's been bugging the hell out of me for the past couple of days so I avail myself on the help of all you experts out there. [8D]

It's synth-led with drums and bass, nothing uncommon for the time. Fairly sure the band is from the UK

I think some of the song goes like this:

This part of the song had a single bass note played with the occasional key change. A drum beat is heard every second or third note:

< band >

Tell the truth John,

< singer >

Don't you want her back? Don't you want her back?

< band >

Tell the truth John now you're all alone

Then it goes into the chorus which goes something like this:

Don't you know it's true..ooh-oo
(With?) in your heart of stone

The music in the chorus is synth-led, with high notes being played in a kind of tinkling way, single notes being used to produce this effect.

Another part goes:

Today

The word is sung in a higher pitch with the last syllable held for a couple of seconds. The synths are similiar to the chorus but the drums are more prominent here. Have a feeling that the song fades out like this.

Oh, I wasn't sure ... oh well I haven't heard the song "John" in years by Desireless, so I wasn't sure if that was what you were looking for, I think I am going to have to dig that up now.

Thanks, Justin/DevoManiac101
