This is driving me up the wall!! I heard this song once in Duane Reade, and once in McDonald's. The opening lyrics are, "Hey, hey, hey." I believe (I'm not positive) that they played this song on "Spin City" (when Heather Locklear and Charlie Sheen kissed), and on the relatively new show "Orson Beene."

I'm going with either The Monkees Theme or "Hot Hot Hot" by The Cure.

I appreciate the effort, but it's definitely not the Monkees. I watched that show a thousand times when I was a kid, and know that theme well. It could be The Cure. The song in question I would peg as being made in the 1990s.

The "Hey hey hey" is a dead giveaway for the Cure's "Hot Hot Hot!!!" from 1987's "Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me".
