I would like to seek your help on the following...

I was watching a mates taping from the States of a bunch of Videos from MTV or a program similar. It would have been around 1985. The video had the band set in the future. I know the lead singer was wearing dark, almost like formula racing like clothes on (no writing or badges), with red "reebok" shoes and they wore at some stage those Simpson white racing helmets (enclosed). Lead singer had red? close cut hair and a beard or goatee? Any ideas????

I know this obscure but i hope someone is able to name the song and band for me. If anyone knows the answer, I bet it's in this community!
