Need help w/ two samples

Need help w/ two samples

Someone emailed me these two samples, asking for help in ID'ing them. I couldn't, so I wanted to pass them along.

First one sounds Japanese for sure and the 2nd one sounds a bit like an earlier, rougher version of Way of the West.

He said of the 2nd track here:
'This track is from an album of a band that I heard on WLIR, but can't remember who the band was. I was trying to tape a song that I knew that they used to play, but I accidentally cued the wrong track(!) I thought maybe it was Way of The West, but I read that they never released an album, only singles. Since this never got radio play, it will be much harder to identify unless you can recognize the band.'

Thanks![8D]

If this was played on WLIR, you can email Malibu Sue at Sue@island943.com and ask her who it was. She may know since she was a dj there for a long time. She has helped me many times. The 2nd song sounded a little like Medium Medium to me.

First track is Frl. Menke "Messegluck In Dusseldorf." (That's Frl. as in Fraulein.)
