I tried this almost a year ago with no results. Thought I would ask again to see if any of the new members could help me out.

I need some help trying to figure out the title of one of the many videos I recorded off of MTV2 A to Z marathon 4 years ago. It was mischyroned as Do Re Mi's "Guns and Butter"
Based on the look of the video, my guess is that it is from around 1982-83. It's not by a band, but a male solo artist. Here are the lyrics:

The cocktail waitress, she's a fool she's seen it all
and I guess she knows what I want to do, before I fall
Late last night it was new year's eve, and I'm still with you
Now it's a bottle of Dom and I'm on my knee, can I talk to you
(???????) sweet darling

Those bottles of wine, tasted fine They always do
I really need you baby, what's on your mind Can I stay with you
Keep the daylight out of here whatever you do
and I don't know which way to go so baby can I go with you
(???????) sweet darling

chorus
I'm gonna give it til the morning comes
I'm gonna give it, give it, give it
I'm gonna give it til the morning comes

sax solo

Keep the daylight out of here whatever you do
and I don't know which way to go so baby can I go with you
(???????) sweet darling

chorus
I'm gonna give it til the morning comes
I'm gonna give it, give it, give it
I'm gonna give it til the morning comes

we can stay just a while too long, son of a gun I think I love you

chorus

I recorded the video and still have it and would appreciate any help trying to ID this song. I have this song availabe on the HUB if anyone wants to download it and give it a try
Thanks in advance -Michael

Unrelated to this post, but can someone please tell me how to get on/get access to the Hub. It's been a while since my last request, but still no invite. Thanks.

Hope this clears up any confusion![;)]

I'm sorry I missed this thread the first time, because you probably already found out, but the title of the song is in the ????s -- "Blue Fun" by Mikael Rickfors. From '83.

You Rock !!! I Can't believe it. Its been 5 years and hundreds of hits on this page, stumping everyone. Thank you so much for ending the mystery !!! I've never heard of Mikael Rickfors before.

MTV-2 also played that under its correct title. Bully for Do Re Mi, I guess. It was in very light rotation when it was originally released. Somebody high up at MTV must have been a fan of it, because it wasn't released in the U.S. Well, they got good taste -- it's an awesome song. Rickfors' claim to fame was being in The Hollies back in the early '70s.

Oh, and don't thank me; thank whoever bumped up this thread and then deleted their post (since I responded without looking).
