Could somebody please help me to identify this song?
This is some pop music of 80's. First I've heard this song in 1985. It was sang by two voices, male and female, in English. Hoping my memory serves me well, I've made two slightly different MIDI samples, available for download like MIDI and MP3 both.

This sounds superb! I am not sure who this could be. Is that you perfoming the clip you posted?

Thank you. Yes, it's me, but it's not an actual "performance" - just a MIDI recording using old good Cakewalk software, and some guitar to remember harmony or bass line.

Do you remember any of the lyrics? The more I listen to the more familiar it sounds.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that is Paradise, the first track on New Order's 1986 album Brotherhood.

Sorry, but no. The bass line is almost the same, but that's all. The song I look for was much more "poppish", and there were two voices, male and female. Gal sang the first verse, guy - the second one, and then they sang refrain together.

This song has become my new obsession and that is just based on the midi clip you posted [:p]

BTW, some notion about the song and it's environment. It was summer of 1985, I just came back from my 2-year conscription. This song was the second track on some collection, which was placed on a tape, taking a full side A. On side B there was some album, not sure about the performer ... I think it was Matt Bianco. It doesn't matter anyway.
I don't know if that collection was made by some amateur, or it was a fab collection, but as for me it was rather the latter, regarding sound issues. The first track was "Send Me an Angel" by Real Life (great song, absolutely recommended), the second was the song I'm looking for, and, unfortunately, I don't remember the others.

I am guessing you no longer have the cassette tape, tragic loss indeed. My father who was in the music biz for over 25 years had about 5 boxes full of old mix tapes he had made in the late 70's/through the early 90's. He gave them away about 8 years ago or so. I wish I could locate them today but that is rather doubtful, don't you think? Oh well, you never think to hold on to these kind of things until years pass and when you look back you simply kick yourself in the arse.

In fact, it was not cassette, but a bobbin, do you remember these things? A tape roll, for old-fashion audio tape recorder. Remember, it was a Soviet Union. There were cassettes, sure enough, but soviet cassette recorders usually gave an extremely poor sound quality, so people mostly preferred bobbins for a good sound.
Anyway, here's hoping that tape still lays somewhere at home of my friend's parents. But even if I'll find it and record that song into MP3, this doesn't guarantee correct recognition. [:(]

Thank to some very thoroughful person whose effort I greatly appreciate, the mystery is solved. This is "Venice and Moonlight" by Michael Jass, a German single of 1983. Here are the download links:
