90's Song (Sounds Like The Cranberries)

Although I highly doubt it was The Cranberries (who were also recording music during the same time period) it kind of sounded like them. Maybe a little more adult contemporary-ish. The lyrics i remember (the chorus) went something like "let-ee-ur, let-ee-ur, let-ee-ur"...."and whatever you do, don't let go, don't ever let me go."
I've tried very hard to remember the artist's name and song title but i haven't been able to. Anyone here know what song this could be?
