I have about 6 or 7 songs I pirated off alternative stations in the Baltimore/DC area between 1985-1991 and was never able to get artist or song title. I will try to post the lyrics here first as I am unable to do any type of mp3 or something similar. Here goes:

I will do 2 songs now and depending on how that goes will do a couple more later, as they have been absolutely bugging me for many years now and I will reward the first person who can identify song and artist.

Song 1

Look at all those people, running all around the world
They think they've seen it all, but they aint seen nothing yet
What about those people, who go to bed hungry every night
What about those people, do they deserve the same

Sacrifice, is everything you said it was,
Sacrifice is everything and more
Sacrifice is everything it's meant to be
Sacrifice is right, that's right, it's right that's right

Was giving something and getting nothing in return
But I know one thing, it took me long enough to learn
Gambling, small change, the more you have the more
give the more I'll have to take it all away

Sacrifice chorus (4 lines above)

And they tell you it's easy til you stp out on your own,
Things don't go the way they should be, it's a lonely world you see

Sacrifice chorus (above)

Song could be titled "Sacrifice" but also has repeating of the words "Do you go to bed hungry?" towards the end.

Song 2

She said she came from heaven on a one-day tour
To please the men she meets and make them beg for more
I see her walk my streets a hundred times a night
I sit and fantasize about things I know I'm (or "aren't") right
But I know

CHORUS
Well your hands are shakin' and your heart is breakin' and I don't know where to turn.
The rules you're breakin' and you're loves foresaken, although

I couldn't help myself I told her how I felt
She said you hold me ___________________________

But I know

CHORUS 2x

Shame, I'm shakin
Shame, I'm shakin

CHORUS

Both songs are quite melodic, especially the second. The singer in the second sounds a bit reminiscent of Andy Partridge of XTC, but no way it is them or him as the song is not their style.

If anyone can identify these I'd be most appreciative and will reward you somehow, that I promise!
