Heard In the Deli

Heard In the Deli

Postby schwenko » Thu Apr 07, 2005 11:10 am

Tonight I was eating at my favorite midtown deli where the radio is tuned to WKTU. The song was very house-y with female vocals, when suddenly I thought I recognized another song being sung in the middle. And I really liked it, except that I couldn't pin down what that was.
Then it dawned on me. It was Fade to Gray by Visage (the part of this song that I liked).
Anyone know what song I heard?

You might have heard the Bassheads remix of "Fade To Gray" which came out around 1994. It's basically the original vocals of the song remixed with a house-like beat. If this is in fact the song you heard, it can be found on Visage's greatest hits CD.

I don't think so. But thanks
I remember a little more about it.
There were some vocals that went something like;
"It's not the way that I want it, it's just the way that I do it" or something close.
"Day by day"
And again, it is female vocals (all in English)[:)]

Hey Schwenko, you're looking for Kelly Osbourne's "One Word". New single and a blatant Visage rip-off.

And a posting to the St Etienne mailing list pertaining to this topic:

"This is interesting, I looked up 'One word' in ASCAP's database. First hit:

FADE TO GREY (Title Code: 360179764)
Writers:
CURRIE WILLIAM
PAYNE CHRISTOPHER JOHN
URE JAMES (GB)

Performers:
KELLY OSBOURNE
OSBOURNE K
STRANGE S
VISAGE

Variations:
FADE TO GRAY
ONE WORD

I'm 99% sure 'One word' was credited differently before."

I'm pissed! That fat bitch needs to stop! She has no talent and needs to just give it up!

I wanna say that I'm shocked, but coming from her, it doesn't surprise me. I hope she gets her ass sued for everything she's got!
