I have an old punk tune from a very old cassette that is a minimum of 15-23 years old and the track listing is gone.I'm doing good to still have some of these. If you listen to old school punk, can you help me identify track 23 please. Also, the other track(toh1) is Theatre of Hate if anyone is into the older alternative stuff.I threw it in there for anyone to listen.Cant remember the name of the tune.Apologies for the lousy recordings but I'm finding out transferring analog to digital mp3 at least allows one to burn it on a cd-r,however, the recording is just plain awful ! Some of my albums were ruined recently due to being in a storage(I currently live in the deep South) and i'm scraping the bottom of the barrell just to collect some of these songs from years past when I recorded them.I'm trying to get my turntable back from a friend so as to transfer my remaining LP's to cd .Thanks all !

Bowie,

that first one is called "Jezebel", but for the life of me,i can't remember who does it. it kinda sounds like old Agent Orange, but i'm not sure about that. it's actually a remake of a Herman's Hermits song; also redone by Frankie Laine. act

"Jezebel" by the old LA band The Controllers. Hell Yeah Records re-released a bunch of their songs on an lp (and cd) a few years ago.

Ollie-your the man,the myth, the legend ! I could not remember their name for the life of me ! Wish I was familiar with your band when I stayed in Minneaopolis back in the 80's for a short while.

Kyxx4ever, hmm... did not know it was a remake ! In the years passing,I have come across tons of punk bands doing remakes that were often quite good.Hell, ever heard SNFU'S version of "Uncontrollable Urge"--it's great !

Bowie,

yah, those punk bands did some killer covers. i've always loved Agent Orange's version of "Somebody to Love" (Jefferson Airplane); and who in their right mind could resist ( hee hee) the Sex Pistols' version of "My Way" ! haven't heard "unco

Glad to have been able to help out.

"Shakin' ALl Over" was originally done by Johnny Kidd and the Pirates and covered many mnay times. Generation X did a really good version of it on the b-side to one of their singles.

surprising to find out these sparse and often not so recognized tunes were covered by many over the years--i had no idea the Hollies did it either !
