This was a reggae song from the early 80s. At least it was the refrain. It just popped into my head today. I haven't heard it in 20+ years (cassette tape of radio program, stolen). I thought it was the Gladiators, but could never find it on any album.
Any ideas? (I think it would be hard to Google)

well if it's the one i'm thinking of it wasn't a reggae song..........it was a rock tune........and their first album was quite good.........the rest were pretty bad........the chorus went..
"beam me up scotty this planet sucks".....
the group was 'plan b"
album was "the greenhouse effect"

now that you mention it.......fingerprintz did have one by that name as well.......it's on the album "the very dab"
