It played alot on WLIR in early 80's. I think the band was The Vixens and the title was You Should Have Run Me Down. I remember a lyric, I think it was "sitting around the bar getting drunk and stupid". Please tell me I didn't dream this up.

Fun Fact:
Charles Higson, leader of the Higsons, went on to write for several TV comedies in the UK, including a one-off, The Craig Ferguson Show. The same Craig Ferguson who is now the host of "The Late Late Show."

Great song. I don't think if I ever heard the extended version. I have the original. [:)]

Extended version (which was essentially the album version) is on the "Curse Of The Higsons" CD.

Back about ten or eleven years ago, I had a bunch of friends who all loved the Two-Tone double cd collection, as did I. I always fought with them because I said this song was as good as anything by The Specials, Beat, or Selector on that compilation. I think bad Spandau Ballet is what they used to describe it as. I still think its a terrific song!

A million thanks. You have no idea how much this has been bugging me. You guys are the greatest. I would love to hear it one more time, but as I am not computer savvy I wouldn't know how to retrieve it. I see you guys talking about mp3s all the time, but am clueless.
but thanks soooooo much anyway. I know I'm gushing, but you'll have to excuse an old fart like me.
