This is going to sound stupid- A song from the 80's- I THINK it's new wave- not sure. It's a guy- the song mentions couples, (napoleon and Josephine, Romeo and Juliet, Sid and Nancy, etc). Basically about the tragedy of love. I THINK it might have been called something like "I am not impressed", but that may be because when googling to try to figure it out, that is what came up that sounded familiar.
Anyway- I loved the song years ago, and now it is driving me nuts!
Anyone????

There's a song by Tonio K "Romeo & Jane" and he also has a song called Impressed from his album Romeo Unchained. Here's a link to a clip from Amazon.

Following your lead, I found the lyrics to "Impressed" at this site: http://home.earthlink.net/~mrmando/tonio_k/

...and it looks like Cee hit the nail on the head. There's also a link there to listen to a snippet of that song.

No mention of "Sid and Nancy", though...

The Tonio K version IS that song, but a newer version- I am looking for the original- anyone know who did it?? Mid- eighties, I think.
Thanks!

Tonio K's Romeo Unchained was originally released in 1986. The date on Amazon is a re-release. See the following link.

The version your looking for is probably Charlie Sexton from his "Pictures for Pleasure" album.
I have the CD if you'd like an MP3.
