I can't remember group name for the life of me.

One song was about friends turning "cold" on you. At the beginning of the song a female voice states "Its cold in here." The main vocal is a man's voice in a monotone, spoken style. Music is synth and layered.

Another song on the CD was about dark sunglasses. The lyrics (same male voice) referred to getting away with looking at someone without them knowing and getting away with it because of the dark glasses, "behind my dark sunglasses" (i think).

I believe the group came out in the late 80's. Again, the most of the tracks were synth and layered. Good stuff.

I know it is a long shot but I thought I'd try.

Thanks to all.

Possibly a dance remix of that Corey hart song? No, wait, that was Corey Haim.

Dang...I think it was A Flock of Coreys.

Really, I meant no offense. Just delivering my usual sterling, witty reparteé.

As you should! Aural [8D]

I think it was actually Corey Feldman backed by Nina Hagen from the "Breakfast Club" ST.[;)]

The group name is "La Tour". It popped into my memory after a random thought. Amazing how the mind works. They made the hit "People are still having sex".

Good stuff, check em out if you can find em.

LaTour wasn't a group. La Tour was William LaTour, a DJ who decided to try his hand at music. I believe he only put out two albums. The first one had his hits: "People are Still Having Sex" and "Allen's Got a New Hi-Fi." The second LP died in obscurity land. But you're right, that first album is a kicker. One of my favorites actually.

Maybe I'll try to e-mail you "People are Still Having Sex."

Thanks for the great info! I'm looking for the self titled CD now "La Tour". I used to have it but through time it has disappeared. I've found it via ebay but it is pretty spendy. I think I'll try some used CD shops and hope to find a bargain.

After doing some googling, I found that there is another band titled "La Tour" which used to be "Lauren", not related to William LaTour at all. Interesting. ?

Again, thanks for the info.

Artist: LaTour
Born: 1990

LaTour was the alias of Chicago-based house producer William LaTour, who in 1991 scored a major club crossover smash with the novelty hit "People Are Still Having Sex," featured on his self-titled debut LP. Subsequent attempts to repeat this early success -- like the follow-up "Allen's Got a New Hi-Fi" -- failed, however, and 1993's Home on the Range appeared to little notice, with LaTour dropping entirely out of sight soon after.
