Dr. Who

Not necessarily new wave, but I remember this dance tune they used to play in the clubs in the mid-80's that sampled the theme from the Dr. Who TV series. I seem to recall the chorus is something about the Dr. in the tardis.

Anyone? I don't know why it popped into my head but now it is driving me nuts!

My memories of this song are somewhat blurred by alcohol - I must have looked like a complete idiot dancing to this.

I never remember hearing this on the radio in Canada, only in the clubs. When I looked it up on the net I was a little surprised to discover that it was a #1 hit in the UK! Wow. It is a lot of fun, though, I must admit.

I say only a "little" surprised because I was living in the London when the Cheeky Girls topped the UK charts. Anything is possible in ole Blighty!

[/quote]Ahh yes! Thanx for expanding on that Warzau [;)]

BTW: I remember the video being pretty cheesey, a hodgepodge of junky high school project robots spinning around an empty dusty lot interspersed with footage of this old jalopy with a big domed flashing light on top driving around. Probably cost all of $2000 to make. [xx(]

I remember that video as well, the "police" car going down the dirt road like a drunk driver [:)]

Anyone remember the KLF "Chill Out" album? I used to listen to it often whilst coming down off hallucinogens. Very relaxing and effective.

Oh, yes. As I recall, the Chill Out LP is QUITE different from "Whitney Joins The Jamms" and "1987."
