westside germany

I've always wondered why that band Oh Well was on Westside. They don't sound like any of the other bands and they actually pretty bad. Oh well (pun intended), I guess they knew the owners.

Was Camouflage ever on Westside?!? It's weird to me that they are on here.

Paul, Digital 80's, can you do what I asked on the email for me please?

The Camoflage track is a different version than the one released on metronome. I think that Axel Henniger (mcl as well as other westside groups) produced some of their first album. I am disappointed with the tracklist. I was anticipating more full 12 inch mixed that Westside was known for. I am glad that Orient Affair made the cd as did Curare. I hope that the lack in full remixes is a sign that they might release more in the future.

I'm actually ok with the tracklisting. It's always nice to get the extended 12" versions but radio versions are pretty cool too, especially Frankfurt radio versions.

Let's hope the release the MCL album.

If anyone in the States has already received this comp. would you let me know when and where you purchased it from. I have only seen it listed at a few online places and most have differing release dates. I have yet to know anyone who actually has the cd or is it delayed again. Thanks

Well I got my copy in. Pretty cool cd. My only complaint was the Voyou song was cut too short. The Great Commandment by Camouflage is one of the highlights along with Axodry and Two of China. Can't wait for volume 2.

Hey Sean, where did you get yours from, how much, and how long did it take to get it. (If I may ask) Oh by the way I got a cd single of voyou's Houseman 90 on ebay the other day. I had seen it listed but have not heard it yet. Love the original, hope it is as good. Thanks

You can get your copy at A Different Drum. I think it's $20 plus shipping. Just mention to Todd that Sean referred you. :)

Thanks sean, I ordered that the Twins Japanese Groove Collection and the Rick Astley Groove collection (the last for my boyfriend) I left a message at the end that you referred them to me. I have been to that site before but had yet to order. The prices seem to be good and they have several other things I'll be getting as soon as I have all of my ebay purchases. Thanks fot the info. Thanks Sean, I received the different drum in the mail today. I think that the Classic Dance, Tekno Talk, and Great Commandment are worth the cd cost alone. I hope with future volumes they will use more full versions, but I am just excited that these are seeing the light of day on cd. I also scored a rare oop cd single for cccp "United States of Europe with the U.S. Dallas remix of American Soviets (unavailable on cd with the exception of the Oaklawn Retro Classics which has some questionable editing and mastering issues.) Thanks for the heads up. I also just got the Voyou houseman 90 cd single from ebay. Amazingly, I had it on cd-r from years ago and didn't realize that it was the 90 version, I thought it was the b side since I only had the original form Razormaid. There is a short mix on the cd that is almost without a beat (sort of chillout) that is worth looking into. Thanks again.

Hi James,

I agree with you on the full versions. They definitely ended a few of the songs too early. That's awesome on your acquisition of the CCCP and Voyou. I think I have that Voyou 90 cd single too but I can't find it. :( It's always great to get Frankfurt cd singles. I hope that Westside will release these next:

MCL - Full Album
Moskwa TV - The Unreleased Album
