Some interesting facts now that I finally got hold of this :

Heaven 17 [i]Penthouse And Pavement (12" mix)[/i] 6.20 : Same as album version on Penthouse And Pavement CD, edited from the 12" which is 7 minutes long.

Associates [i]Party Fears Two (12" mix)[/i] 5.10 : Same as album version on Sulk CD. The 12" is a different mix at 5.34.

Visage [i]Night Train (12")[/i] 6.09 : First time on CD, this is really the 'dance mix' by Visage/John Luongo. Quite nice.

Altered Images [i]Don't Talk To Me About Love (12" mix)[/i] 6.52 : Same as on Reflected Images CD, which is edited down from the 12" of about 8.30

Tears For Fears [i]Pale Shelter (Extended Version)[/i] 5.57 : This is a complete cop-out. Not only is it NOT the original 12" extended version (with the "You don't give me love" in brackets), but it is shortened from the 'long version' (7.10) on The Hurting reissue CD.

Aztec Camera [i]Oblivious (12" mix)[/i] 3.50 : First time on CD afaik. Very nice despite skip at 24" during the intro

Tom Tom Club [i]Genius Of Love (extended mix)[/i] 5.35 : False advertising again - actually the album version. A 'long version' (7.24) can be found on the Tom Tom Club CD

Animal Nightlife [i]Mr Solitaire (12" mix)[/i] 5.56 : This is the 'US Remix' from Unleashed : The Best of Animal Nightlife CD.

I cannot comment on the Echo And The Bunnymen, Julian Cope and That Petrol Emotion since I don't have the original 12"s

So the rarity factor is quite low, but as a collection this is not bad and overall sound quality is good. Get it cheap if you can.

Cool info Yipyipcoyote. Is that a really bad skip on the Oblivious track? That was one of the reasons I wanted to buy this comp.

No the skip is not too bad, it's just like an extra beat being inserted so the sync is not lost. You might not notice if you're not paying attention.
