TELEX New "Best Of" on MUTE & Reissues coming

TELEX New "Best Of" on MUTE & Reissues coming

Postby discoginfo » Wed Jan 27, 2021 12:31 am

News just broke that Telex have begun a collaboration with MUTE Records to reissue their catalogue.
First out is a new compilation, this time remixed ("reduced") by the two remaining members Dan and Michel.
This will include two previously unreleased tracks. Release date 30 April.
I hope the planned album reissues will be full of unreleased songs!

No idea.... music lovers need a good portion of patience and also resilience against faulty compilations & boxes.

Yes, all CDs in the box feature only the original vinyl LP tracks (newly remastered/remixed), with a few exceptions:

"NEUROVISION" (1980) has two extra tracks! Lakelele & Soul Waves. However, where is the track "Final"? And the track order has been changed.

"SEX" (1981) features one extra track: "Dummy" (from BIRDS AND BEES, 1982) but skips the other two tracks from that LP: Mata Hari & L'amour toujours.

My intuition tells me that Telex only want to add extra tracks that they feel really belong on the "album" or that are good enough. But... Mata Hari & L'amour toujours are good enough, are they not?? :)

"Remastered and newly mixed from the original tapes by Dan Lacksman and Michel Moers" - it's always interesting to look at how the old men see their music 40 years after it was first recorded))

I hope Steve Wilson did not put his proggy hand here))

"How Do You Dance?" from the recent EP 1, sounds different = some new sounds, not just "remastered"

They've said in interviews that a lot of the tracks have been remixed, with some "elements" removed to make them sound "more like Telex". Whatever that means!
