An album I have appreciated more over the years, I suspect it will be expensive, why they bother putting cassette rehearsals on these box sets I don't know.

The 2005 5.1 DVD-A of Simple Minds' "New Gold Dream" was missing multitrack masters of "Colors Fly + Catherine Wheel" and "Promised You A Miracle," but they still included the two songs in the otherwise 5.1 remix in 2.0 so as not to break up the flow of the album. If the multitrack masters of "The Voice" and "I Remember [Death In The Afternoon]" were missing it looks like some hard decisions had to be made. A real "lifeboat scenario" that I'm glad I wasn't a part of. Still all-in for the CD box, though! I'm not going to miss the acme of Ultravox given this level of scrutiny.

There's nothing else to put (well, except for the live recordings). Ultravox were never that prolific, they simply don't have any kind of completed unreleased stuff. Besides, rehearsals were where they were writing songs so it's most interesting as a glimpse into their creative process.

Oh, a 2 LP version with INSTRUMENTAL VERSION OF THE ALBUM is also coming????? what a surprise!!

Steve Wilson is a great musician, I own\love the whole of Porcupine Tree catalogue, he is superb in remixing old proggers like Jethro Tull and King Crimson. But who decided that he is a new wave remixing guru???? Was it Midge' initiative to invite him, or someone else's??

I might typify Ultravox [phase 2] as "Prog Adjacent." Just ask Billy Currie's opinion. He was always liberal with the use of the "P-word."

Well, Midge once confessed he was invited to discuss producing a RUSH album)))) After short meeting, though, the invitation was revoked). I would wait for that record rather than for all these current dozen CD+DVD reissues...

Interesting. I knew that Rush were keen ca. 1981 to have Midge Ure produce, and at any time pre-1985, I think he should have! But if they asked him in 1988, then I can see why it was ill-starred.

Nice interview with Midge Ure about the reissue on SDE:
https://superdeluxeedition.com/intervie ... e-in-eden/

For those in the US, the box set is showing a December release on US sites like importcds.com etc. Not on AMZ US except for third party sellers for ~$74. If you want it sooner, and cheaper suggest JPC in Germany. Shipping is reasonable and price lower than on AMZ US ($53 total including shipping). There is a 'Switch to English' option at the top of the page. Link from SDE:

I ordered mine the other day from popmarket.com. They don't ship until the US date of Dec. 2nd, but the price was right: $66.79 + tax and free shipping in the US!

got this at last))
well, a decent release, to say a least.
I hate Wilson's remixes more and more with each new Ultravox re-release. just moving guitar to the front is not mixing, to my taste.
Live recordings are not of my liking, but are absolutely a must have addition to the set.

And - Stranger within' Steven Wilson's 9:57 min version can easily be called the most boring Ultravox track!!
