New Human League digital singles continue to be released every 2 weeks! Today "Love Is All That Matters" arrived and with it came 3 more tracks that have never been released on CD or any other digital format (tracks 3,4&6)...

1. Love Is All That Matters (Edit)
2. Love Is All That Matters (Extended Version)
3. Love Is All That Matters (A Cappella)
4. Love Is All That Matters (Instrumental)
5. I Love You Too Much (Dub)
6. Are You Ever Coming Back? (7" Version)

Like the first single from Crash, this one was a favourite of mine too. Still in for a CD singles boxset ...

I think I'm in pretty good company when I say "Crash" is one of my least favorite League albums. I remember loving "Human" and excitedly picking up "Crash" only to be really disappointed overall. But there are definitely a handful of solid tracks on it that, to me, have stood the test of time. Obviously "Human" was fantastic, but "Love Is All That Matters" was an instant favorite. "Are You Ever Coming Back?" and "The Real Thing" are also excellent and sound more like classic HL. Even "Love On The Run" is pretty good. No surprise that the last 3 were actually written by the band, whereas the bulk of the rest of the album was provided by Jam & Harris.

Nice to see them include the North American only (?) 7" Edit of "Are You Ever Coming Back?"! Someone at Virgin/Universal knows what they're doing. The original 1983 "I Love You Too Much" has always been a top favorite of mine, and while I do have the Dub on a few CD's, it's great to see it included here. It's weird and wonderful!

The sound quality on all of the digital singles has been fantastic. I too am hopeful all of this thorough back catalog activity could point to a CD singles box set!

If they continue on this trajectory with the digital download singles, I expect we will start to see "Romantic?" singles in 2 weeks time. Since both singles from that album were released as CD-Singles back in 1990, I'm not sure there's any treasures to be had. Would be nice if somehow the William Orbit remixes of "Heart Like A Wheel" could be made to sound less muffled, but I think those were just poorly done from day one, unfortunately.

Are You Ever Coming Back? was also the last song to have a songwriting contribution from Adrian Wright.

It was mooted as a British single, but apparently Philip didn't want it released as it did not feature Joanne & Susan.

Yes but only if they do it properly, with no missing mixes, the actual 7" versions etc.

Odd they have not done digital releases for the pre-1981 singles, unless Virgin are avoiding issues around Rock'N'Roll.

I don't think the long version of Toyota City has been on CD / digital?

This should've been the second single after "Human" instead of wretched "I need your lovin'". They could've had a decent-sized hit with it. Still not a masterpiece by any stretch of imagination, just a competent but ultimately forgettable throwaway pop. strange that it's the singles from "Crash" that are being released - why not the early stuff?

They've been releasing "new" digital downloads since June...

The only one they haven't done so far (post "Dare") is "Life On Your Own", which I've never been a fan of. As far as I can tell, the only track they've missed is the 7" remix of "The Sign". They only included the 12" remix of "The Sign" on the "Louise" release.
