Wang Chung and Huang Chung

I liked their very first album when they were just known as Huang Chung.That was also their debut album and it was self titled.As Wang Chung,I only bought their first album Points On The Curve,and Mosaic.I never did buy or get to hear their To Live And Die In L.A. album,and just by that song in general made me not want to buy that album,because I didn't like that song.And forget about their very last album the dreaded The Warmer Side Of Cool,which i thought was just a complete waste of time and waste of a full album by them.Not one song off of that album was upbeat,and the whole album had nothing to offer itself.

And most importantly,It was not a New Wave album by them by any means.It was a complete stiff.Slow ballads and very uncommercial.It did nothing for me.Overall,I would ahve to say that they were never one of my favorite New Wave bands of all time.If I ever decide one day to make a list of New Wave artists that were one of the worst,I would definately add Wang Chung to that list.What did any of you think of them? I thought that the song "Let's Go" was a fairly decent song by them from off of their Mosaic album,along with "Everybody Have Fun Tonight" as well as the rest of that album.

Points On The Curve also had some halfway decent songs on it,and I'm not just talking about the hits from that album.But once a band starts to put out nothing but junk,I usually don't go back to buying any of their music again,unless of course that artist does a complete about face.Stranger things like this have happened before,but not very often.

Points on the Curve is a great album. Though I don't think I would consider it "New Wave"

I also like the song To Live And Die In L.A., as well as the movie (which is out on dvd finally).

I agree Dan, To live and Die in L.A. rocks hard as song and movie. I liked the whole soundtrack to the movie. I didn't care for much that the Wangers put out afterwards though. I mean, come on now, Everbody Wang Chung tonight!!! Blech~![xx(]

Certainly here was a band that went very commercial after "Points On A Curve". I have to agree, their first album, which was issued on One Way and is now out of print, is very new wave.

I have to disagree i may be one of the few that like "The Warmer Side Of Cool" i loved the entire album Praying To A New God is a masterpiece that has to be my favorite song by them aside from "Let's Go" on the Mosiac album. I have always liked wang chung

Yeah, Devomaniac101, I have to agree: The 12" remix of "Dance Hall Days" is poor. I remember being disappointed after running home from the record store with it. I thought maybe I was playing it at the wrong speed (rpm)! The single or album version is

Okay, I should correct what I said. I only loathe "Everybody Have Fun Tonight" I absolutely love "Let's Go" and "Hypnotize me also from their Mosaic album. Points on a Curve and the soundtrack for To live and Die an L.A. are my favorite albums with Point
