Once known as the Bob Dylan of Punk in looks he did some recordings on the CBS label.I had one of his import albums,thinking that he was a singer.As it turned out,the whole album was nothing but poetry reading.I did not like it,and my expectations were high at first,but was let down when I found out that he did not sing(at least not on the album I had he didn't) Does anyone know if he ever did any albums where he just sings? Or are every one of his albums just poetry readings? Ugh.

JCC was (and still is) a poet. I've got all his albums and they're all just him reciting poetry over some music.

I got turned on to him from the URGH! A Music War film and have been a huge fan since.

Saw him do his thing in Machester at the Bridgewater Hall at the beginning of March this year. Very talented wordsmith and hilariously clever man, saved the evening for me after a few pretentiously uninspired sets from some old Manccy punks.

The auditorium was roaring with laughter when I saw him in Manc. He was quite engaging. He had a backing band with cellos and violins for "Beasley Street." Sounded marvelous.
