Cockney Rejects

Something just tells me by their name alone,that they are either Punk or Hardcore Punk? Am I right about either style? How were they for a band any good? Were they anything like The Sex Pistols or Sham 69? Can anyone help me out here? thanks.

Just by looking at their website,they now look like a bunch of old farts from what I can tell.That does not mean that their music isn't any good.I would have to sample of their music.Are they worth sampling?

The Cockney Rejects were one of the founding bands of the Oi! scene. Oi! started about 1979, 1980 and was a dumbed-down version of late 70's British punk. The Business, Cockney Rejects, Last Resort, 4 Skins and most of the Nazi skinhead bands would fall

Their raucous "Flares N Slippers" single is worth a listen IMO. They fizzled out in the early 8o's, though, becoming some horribly cheesey-sounding 'hard rock' band instead of the youthfully energetic Oi!.
