I was just flipping thru the future releases at CD Universe.com and noticed some tribute cds that are forthcoming. Get this, tributes to
The Darkness, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Poison. Also, there is a tribute cd for Clay Aiken already out. Is it me or is the music industry over doing it with the tribute album concept? Are these artists so spectacular they deserve such a tribute?
And one other thing, how many "greatest hits" cds keep coming out for the same band over and over again? If I see another greatest hits package for The Doors, I think I will puke. [xx(]

These are probably quick cash-in tributes with tracks all done by the same soundalike band. Stores are littered with 'em these days. I just saw a tribute to those NOW compilations (if you can imagine something THAT ridiculous) and at the bottom of the cov

Hmmm...I personally don't have any "tribute" CD's or albums in my collection. I have seen ones for Depeche Mode, Ministry & Joy Division, but have not decided to buy any yet. Are there any New Wave related tribute works out there worth checking out[?]

These "tribute albums" of music by current artists such as Clay Aiken and The Darkness aren't created by "The music industry." There are companines out there making soundalike recordings to be sold cheaply at retail to compete with "the real thing." It's
