Although I like them, I do not consider them new wave, either. Many 70's icons tried to adapt to the sound of new wave. Steve Miller's 1984 album "Italian Xrays" is an example of this. Hall & Oates were skillful enough to pull it off and became very su

I wouldn't consider them new wave either, but saying that they "incorporated elements of new wave", or somesuch, is a fair statement for some generic music description book to say.
