Thanks, I'll see if I can find any of their stuff to check out. The Dronez were more of a punk band. They played at QE2 alot. The only record they ever did never saw the light of day which is too bad because they were amazing.

Philly was home to many very good now-defunct new wave bands.

The most popular being The Hooters.

But what about The Vels? Anyone?

The one I know the most about is Robert Hazard. Escalator of Life! What an amazing song, eh? I have lived in center city Philly for over 2 years now, but I really should do more research about the bands that made the new wave scene here so damn good!!!

At any rate, there was a DJ that was very popular and instrumental in creating and nurturing a new wave scene here from the late 70s to mid 80s. Even if you are not from Philadelphia, I implore all to take a look at this site.

ekahob, you are so on target with regards to Dirty Looks. They were my hope for the '90's and the label dicked them. What great artists there were!

I didn't know anybody still remembered my old band, The Metros! My brother Brien was the guitarist for Max Cool & The Cubes. They used to open for us at Traces in Hillsdale and at On Broadway in Westwood...long live The Worms!

I'm one of the members of the Dronez and is now the Killer Dronez...
The vocalist and the drummer past away and we revamed. We are still playing some of thoughs songs like (Someone to lean on, Media Evagalist, ect)
